Main Purpose of the Position:
ASM Plant and Industrial mechanics will work in a variety of environments and plant sites. They will install and repair mechanical components and equipment.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components of industrial equipment. Working as a team member or alone to complete projects. Observing safety procedures and meeting operating. Making decisions based on technical documents. Performing quality testing and inspections. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by safely performing maintenance tasks to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all facility equipment. Inspects equipment for defects. Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts, involving the application of press, and running fits. Makes either temporary or permanent changes
Skills/Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Mine experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment. Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents. Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
