The Night Shift Assistant Manager is responsible for helping oversee all shipping and customer service-related functions of that shift.  Assistant managers provide leadership, direction, and motivation to others on their team and within the Operations department.  They are responsible for making sure that crew members are working efficiently and productively while ensuring that proper processes are being followed to eliminate the potential for errors.           

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Become well versed in all products that Reico has to offer in order to train crew to properly handle and ship all material.
  • Identify problems within the warehouse and take corrective action to insure we are providing World Class Service to our customers, day shift, and sales teams.
  • Assign team members to tasks based on daily workload and goals of shift.
  • Ensure shift is following proper pulling, scanning, and loading procedures through best practice training for each work process.
  • Possess systems knowledge of the AS400 system in order to run edits, scan products, track receiving functions, and verify the accuracy of the receiving and shipping process.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating warehouse safety program to lower accidents and risk of injuries to employees including participation in training on various safety topics, discussions of safety topics, and review of accidents to minimize the chances of repeat occurrences.
  • Provide feedback to crew on performance and relay pertinent information to other managers and divisions in a positive and professional manner.
  • Communicate with other departments and warehouse teams through e-mail.
  • Coordinate daily routes with sales teams, drivers, routing clerks, and crew.
  • Assist in management of truck fleet for safety and coordination with trucking vendors.
  • Participate in shift and Operations management meetings and be able to communicate pertinent information concerning night shift goals, responsibilities, and progress on initiatives.
  • Assist manager in preparation and presentation of performance evaluations for night shift.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Assists with the supervision of employees on the night shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience                               

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role frequently necessitates physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, manual dexterity involving the use of hands and fingers, and reaching with arms and hands. On occasion, the employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position also involves intermittent lifting and/or moving of objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include the ability to perceive objects at close and long range, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral vision, assess depth, and adjust focus effectively.
