A day in the life:
As a member of the DevOps team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving enterprise geospatial systems and supporting the infrastructure that hosts them. This includes managing ArcGIS Enterprise components, supporting cloud and on-premises environments, implementing automation, troubleshooting operational issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate existing environments and identify opportunities for system optimization, modernization, and enhanced functionality, including ArcGIS Enterprise deployments.
- Provide operational support for mission-essential applications and geospatial services, including ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and associated components.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system and application issues through analysis, testing, documentation, and impact assessment.
- Plan, test, and deploy software updates, security patches, and operating system enhancements across Windows and Linux environments, including Esri products and supporting technologies.
- Deploy, manage, and scale cloud-hosted infrastructure and ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
- Support CI/CD processes and automate infrastructure, application deployments, and maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Monitor system and application performance, recommend improvements, and implement solutions to enhance availability and efficiency.
- Administer infrastructure operating across multiple isolated and restricted network environments.
- Conduct testing throughout the software and infrastructure lifecycle to ensure platform stability, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including deployment procedures, operational guides, and system configurations.
- Promote DevOps best practices by supporting automation, monitoring, collaboration, and continuous process improvement.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution. An additional five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I requirements; IAT Level II certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of security best practices and system hardening techniques.
- Experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux servers, including patch management, troubleshooting, and security maintenance.
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical and operational issues.
- Experience managing, renewing, and replacing PKI certificates.
- Familiarity with Windows security and compliance tools such as Nessus, UAM, CYBORGBUNNY, and LATTEART.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience supporting and administering the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
- Experience deploying and managing environments within AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
The total package:
- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $150,000 - $180,000.
