Job Description:

TheĀ Front Desk ReceptionistĀ provides superb customer service to patients & staff and support for the office, independently and with minimal supervision.Ā Ā Ā 

Ā 

PrimaryĀ Duties &Ā Responsibilities:Ā 

  • To create a positive and professional first impressionĀ ofĀ the practice and to show the patients a ā€œwe careā€ attitude.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Schedule appointments and assist withĀ schedulingĀ any additional testing directed by the physician.Ā 

  • Ensure all required patient paperwork is compiled for that day’s appointments.Ā 

  • Collect co-pays and past balances atĀ check-in and enterĀ them into the batch for the day in Practice Management.Ā 

  • Reviews for completeness and accuracy and thenĀ entersĀ required patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and EHR.Ā 

  • Scan the patient’s driver’s license and insurance card(s) front and back into Ntierprise.Ā 

  • Ensure all required referrals are obtained, scanned into the EMR, and linked to that day’s appointment within Practice Management.Ā 

  • Reconcile payment batches at the end of every day and turn themĀ in toĀ the Site Manager.Ā 

  • Schedule follow-up procedures and coordinate any local ASC cases.Ā 

  • Assist patients with the completion of the Phreesia registration system.Ā Ā Ā 

  • As part of the requirements of your position, you are expected to travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region.Ā

Qualifications:Ā 

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.Ā 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting.Ā Ā Ā 

  • 1 - 2 years of customer service.Ā 

Ā 

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:Ā 

  • Excellent customer service.Ā 

  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.Ā 

  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology,Ā ICD-9, and CPT-4 Codes.Ā 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.Ā 

  • Proficient computer software and database skills.Ā 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Ā 

  • Very comfortable asking probing questions to patients.Ā 

  • Must demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and patient attitude.Ā 

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.Ā 

  • Multitasking and proactive problem-solving.Ā 

  • Ability to type 40 Words Per Minute.Ā
