Job Description:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role on the accounting team by performing some of the most critical accounting tasks necessary for timely and accurate financial reporting.Â
Â
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end close process
- Assist the Accounting Manager in compiling backup documentation for financial workpapers
- Prepare project billings, including coordination with project management staff
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
- Maintain cash records, including bank reconciliations and cash receipts records
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, (candidates with associate's degree in Accounting or relevant experience will be considered)
- Minimum 3-5 years progressive accounting experience, particularly in the construction industry, preferred
- Familiarity with job costing, work-in-process concepts, or project-based billing is welcome, though we are glad to train the right candidate

Desired Skills/Attributes:
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the discipline to meet recurring close deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly ExcelÂ
- Able to work independently while keeping the Accounting Manager informed
- Comfortable working with, and asking questions of, people outside the accounting department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
