Summary

Looking for a hands-on role that offers variety throughout the year? If so, CHS has an exciting opportunity as an Operations Specialist at our Dickinson, ND location. This position is a dual-function role supporting both Agronomy and Animal Nutrition operations. Approximately six months of the year will be spent working in Agronomy, focusing on fertilizer handling, chemical warehouse operations, and equipment use, while the other six months will be dedicated to Animal Nutrition, supporting feed production, packaging, warehousing, and loading activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, diverse responsibilities, and being part of two essential areas of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse operations, including operating forklifts, organizing inventory, and accurately pulling and staging products.
  • Operate payloader equipment to move, handle, and manage dry fertilizer materials.
  • Conduct light preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Support Animal Nutrition production processes, including bagging, pelleting, packing, mixing, control room operations, loading dock activities, and warehouse functions.
  • Load, unload, and stage finished feed products and raw materials throughout production and warehouse areas.
  • Repeatedly lift, carry, stack, and move feed bags weighing approximately 55–75 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by performing general housekeeping and sanitation duties.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while operating equipment and performing daily tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production, inventory, and customer service goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certiification preferred
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
