About the Role:
Mid-South Steel Products, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service team, support customer needs, and help ensure service/construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and accurately. This position is responsible for managing technicians, coordinating daily service/construction operations, supporting customer satisfaction, and helping meet department performance goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in automotive technology, building maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a service department, preferably in petroleum construction (tank and pump).
- Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain quality service personnel.
- Strong customer service skills with experience managing customer interactions and satisfaction.
- Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company, customer, OSHA, state, and local requirements.
- Pass all required pre-screening steps (Drug Testing, MVR, DOT Physical, Background).
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and support service/construction technicians in daily operations.
- Respond to customer service needs promptly and work to resolve issues on the first trip whenever possible.
- Maintain accurate service records, billing information, reports, and customer documentation.
- Coordinate scheduling, service calls, start-ups, customer training, and service/construction related project work.
- Support technician training, safety compliance, performance expectations, and professional appearance.
- Maintain proper truck inventory, tools, equipment, and vehicle readiness to support efficient service work.
- Assist with service opportunities, customer communication, vendor programs, and equipment-related questions.
- Monitor department performance, including service efficiency, expenses, labor billed versus labor paid.Â

- Project & Service Coordination: Managing maintenance schedules, service calls, and equipment repairs.
- Budgeting & Financial Management: Overseeing service department P&L, estimating costs, and managing vendor contracts.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all site activities follow OSHA standards and local building codes.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining stock levels for essential parts and construction materials.
- Effective communication in coordination/leading of service technicians
- Team Management: Supervising field technicians, subcontractors, and administrative staff.
- Client Relations: Acting as the primary point of contact for service agreements and resolving customer issues.
- Strategic Planning: Implementing processes to improve service efficiency and department growth.
- Problem Solving: Addressing on-site technical challenges and logistical bottlenecks.
