Key Responsibilities Customer Service: Greet customers promptly upon entering the store with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Assist customers with locating products, making recommendations based on needs and preferences, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have about merchandise or services. Sales: Engage in active selling techniques, including upselling and cross-selling related products. Meet or exceed sales targets as set by store management through persuasive communication and deep product knowledge. Process transactions efficiently using point-of-sale systems and handle cash, credit, and return procedures accurately. Merchandising: Maintain clean and visually appealing displays by restocking shelves, arranging merchandise according to planograms, and implementing seasonal or promotional layouts. Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management in a timely manner. Inventory Management: Receive and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage, record inventory movements, and participate in regular stock counts and audits. Store Maintenance: Ensure the store environment is safe and orderly by performing light cleaning tasks, reporting hazards, and adhering to health and safety protocols. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow team members and management to achieve store objectives, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace culture. QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or retail certifications are an asset. Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn new systems, processes, and product information quickly. Demonstrated reliability and punctuality with a flexible schedule to accommodate days, weekends, events, and holidays as needed. Commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Basic math skills for cash register operations and inventory counts. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements This position requires a variety of physical activities throughout the workday to ensure the effective functioning of the store. The Retail Sales Employee must be able to perform the following essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: Bending and twisting at the waist and knees to access low shelves, stock inventory, or clean displays. Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling merchandise, boxes, or equipment weighing between 30 and 50 pounds on a regular basis. Reaching overhead or below waist level to retrieve or stock products. Standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift) while assisting customers or performing other job duties. Walking throughout the sales floor, stockroom, and other areas of the store. Manual dexterity to operate cash registers, scanners, and other retail equipment. Occasional climbing of ladders or step stools to stock or retrieve merchandise at varying heights. Ability to safely maneuver around the store in crowded or confined spaces.
