  1. Initiates and maintains the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient's environment, and the unit environment.
  2. Understands and recognizes appropriate storage and safety of medications (such as large volume IV's, alcohol, saline, medications in prepackaged kits). 
  3. Promotes and fosters an environment of comfort and safety for patients and visitors. 
  4. Performs or assists with performing nutritional/ hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, H20 or snacks).
  5. Identifies and communicates appropriate patient data to members of the interdisciplinary team.
  6. Collects and records patient related data through the performance of direct care tasks.
  7. Utilizes appropriate health and safety to protect both the patient and staff.
  8. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion and respect for all patients, families, and visitors. 
  9. Performs general transportation and courier duties as directed. 
  10. Assist clinicians with patient treatment under direct supervision of the appropriate licensed personnel. 
  11. Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of shared equipment such as walkers and gait belts according to hospital policy
  12. Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are ready before entering patient room.
  13. Collaborate with the clinicians to assess patient readiness for mobility.
  14. Follows Extended Recovery Standard Workflow to prepare the patient for discharge.
  15. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect everyone involved.
  16. Assists with various patient transfer and gait activities.
  17. Perform assistive device and brace fitting and provide other patient/family education as needed.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant program or 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting
  • High School diploma preferred
  • BLS Certification
  • Must have State Nursing Assistant Certification 

 

Work Schedule 

  • PRN (coverage as needed);   day shift
