Job Description

Reliant Solutions Inc., a behavioral health agency serving the Petersburg, Virginia community, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in behavioral health settings and a strong understanding of medical records management, confidentiality standards, and documentation compliance.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate client records and supporting quality behavioral health services.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize behavioral health medical records in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • File, scan, upload, and manage electronic and physical records
  • Coordinate with clinical staff regarding missing or incomplete documentation
  • Process records requests and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance reviews
  • Ensure timely record updates and secure storage procedures
  • Support administrative and clinical operations as needed


Qualifications

  • Required: Previous experience in behavioral health or mental health services
  • Experience with medical records management or health information systems preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare administration training is a plus
