We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Specialist to serve as a part-time Training Instructor focused on sewer equipment systems. This role is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs covering hydraulic systems used in combination sewer cleaners, vacuum trucks, jetting equipment, and related heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned hydraulic technician or engineer with strong hands-on experience and a passion for developing technicians through structured, practical instruction.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery

  • Develop and deliver structured hydraulic training programs for technicians, field service personnel, dealers, and internal staff.
  • Create lesson plans, presentations, manuals, and hands-on lab exercises.
  • Conduct classroom and shop-based training sessions.
  • Lead troubleshooting workshops and real-world diagnostic exercises.

Technical Instruction

  • Teach core hydraulic principles and fluid power fundamentals.
  • Instruct on pumps (gear, piston, vane), motors, cylinders, and valves (directional, pressure control, flow control).
  • Train on hydraulic schematics, system design, load sensing systems, and PTO-driven hydraulic systems.
  • Provide instruction on diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Promote safety standards and hydraulic best practices.

Program Support & Collaboration

  • Evaluate trainee comprehension and technical skill development.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to technicians.
  • Update training materials to reflect equipment changes, product updates, and field feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and production teams to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Assist in documenting hydraulic procedures and best practices.

Additional Support (As Needed)

  • Support dealer training events.
  • Assist with onboarding programs for new service technicians.
  • Contribute to video-based or online training content development.
