Position Summary

Coleson is seeking a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME), Level II to support a critical Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise cloud security program - a cloud-based managed security service that protects DoD network users through internet isolation technologies. The SME II provides cybersecurity-operations expertise across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure and services, working directly with government and mission-partner stakeholders to strengthen the enterprise security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage government stakeholders and Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) teams to prioritize, develop, and implement enterprise cybersecurity strategies and policy enforcement.
  • Perform security event-data analysis, correlation, and reporting to support discovery, threat hunting, and incident response.
  • Support the design, integration, testing, migration, and accreditation of security solutions within the DoD enterprise architecture.
  • Provide real-time technical support to the Network Operations Center (NOC) and coordinate with the government Program Management Office (PMO) and mission partners on critical issues.
  • Produce and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and architectural documentation consistent with DoDAF and applicable government standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (a Master's or Ph.D. may substitute for experience).
  • Active DoD 8570-01-M IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, or CCSP).
  • Active SECRET clearance (minimum).
  • Subject-matter expertise in cybersecurity operations, including Network Boundary teams and Firewall / Secure Web Gateway (SWG) / Web Content Filtering (WCF) technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting DISA or other DoD enterprise security services.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based managed security and internet-isolation architectures.
  • Residency within a designated HUBZone.

Work Locations, Schedule, and Term

This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence approximately three (3) days per week at government facilities in Maryland, with minimal travel. The role is full-time and contingent upon subcontract execution, featuring a multi-year period of performance consisting of a base period and several anticipated option years.
