The Financial Data Analyst supports Shipboard Financial Analytics by transforming financial and operational data into trusted reporting and actionable insights for shoreside and shipboard stakeholders. The role partners with management to evaluate strategic initiatives; designs, develops, and maintains data-warehouse and reporting solutions; and delivers Tableau and Power BI dashboards and analyses. The analyst safeguards data accuracy through validation, controls, documentation, and ongoing maintenance while communicating clear recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, integrate, clean, and preprocess financial and operational data from multiple sources; perform reconciliations and validation checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability.

  • Develop and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses for shipboard and shoreside teams, translating results into clear insights that support operational and financial decisions.

  • Design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools; apply consistent definitions and effective visual design to communicate trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Partner with finance, operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify business questions, define requirements and KPIs, evaluate strategic initiatives, and recommend data-driven actions.        

  • Maintain reporting and data-warehouse solutions, documentation, and quality controls; continuously improve analytical methods, share knowledge, and uphold strong teamwork and professional standards.                          

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a related area.

  • Proficiency in SQL and Tableau and/or Power BI, with working knowledge of data warehousing, data preparation, and data-quality practices.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and analysis.    

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex financial or operational datasets, building reports and dashboards, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with finance, operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Ability to present findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Cruise industry, hospitality, Oracle EBS, or ERP/financial-systems experience is preferred.

  • This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their home on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
