Through nonprofit agencies, the program provides employment opportunities in the areas of custodial, landscaping, and food preparation services to a multitude of County and State agencies. The program requires that 51-75% of the services provided be completed by individuals who meet the definition of a federal disability. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for the program, which provides employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.     Background Requirements: All candidates for employment must pass a background check and may be subject to a federal background check (where applicable).   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Keeps the assigned area in a clean and orderly condition  Prepare chemicals for use in the performance of various cleaning tasks, by instructions  Care for equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed  Perform cleaning duties as instructed and assigned, including but not limited to:  Restroom cleaning, replenishing paper products, and soap in restrooms.  Office cleaning, empty trash receptacles, dust surfaces, damp wipe surfaces, vacuum, sweep  Removal of trash   Floor cleaning, sweep, dust mop, damp mop, and wet mop  Performance of cleaning duties may take place in an indoor/outdoor environment, depending on the customer’s needs  All other duties as assigned  QualificationsEducation and/or Experience: Six months of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   Competencies:  To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:   Customer Service – A high-energy, positive thinker who responds promptly to customer needs; responds to requests for service and assistance, and greets customers when the employee gets into a private office. Oral Communication - Listens and gets clarification. Ask for a translation from the supervisor when needed. Must be able to communicate issues to the immediate supervisor. Initiative - Volunteers readily ask for and offer help when needed.   Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Must wear the appropriate PPE: glasses, gloves, mask, goggles, and closed-toe shoes.   Work Environment: The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees could work in outside areas. This position allows for the ability to work with reasonable accommodations, and the work environment can be adjusted to support individuals with disabilities as needed.
