About the Position

Air-Heat Mechanical Contractors is hiring a dependable HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on commercial heating and cooling equipment throughout Metro Atlanta.

You will work on equipment ranging from split systems to packaged rooftop units, generally from 1 to 25 tons. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in thorough maintenance, who communicates professionally, and who knows how to identify developing problems before they become major repairs.

Commercial HVAC experience is strongly preferred. An EPA Section 608 certification and a clean driving record are required.

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment
  • Maintain split systems, heat pumps, packaged units, and RTUs ranging from 1 to 25 tons
  • Inspect filters, belts, coils, drains, motors, bearings, electrical components, refrigerant circuits, and overall system operation
  • Take and document temperature, pressure, voltage, and amperage readings as appropriate
  • Clean equipment and make routine adjustments to improve operation and reliability
  • Identify worn components, system deficiencies, and needed repairs
  • Clearly document completed work and equipment condition
  • Communicate findings professionally to customers and the service team
  • Maintain an organized company vehicle and assigned materials
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable refrigerant regulations
  • Represent Air-Heat Mechanical Contractors professionally at customer locations
What We’re Looking For:

Required:
  • EPA Section 608 certification
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of HVAC system operation and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to use meters, gauges, and standard HVAC tools
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment documentation
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred:
  • Previous commercial HVAC maintenance or service experience
  • Experience with split systems and commercial RTUs
  • Experience working on equipment ranging from 1 to 25 tons
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, NATE certification, or manufacturer training
  • Basic electrical and refrigerant-system troubleshooting skills
