Overview:

Kings Dominion is hiring an Area Manager of Human Resources. This is a fulltime salaried position reporting to the Manager of Human Resources. This Generalist role has responsibilities in various areas of human resources including, but not limited to, Recruiting, Onboarding, Compliance, Administration and Associate Experience.


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the full cycle recruiting process, to include ATS management. Recruit, interview and hire for exempt and non-exempt full-time positions. Make hiring recommendations to departments based on interview. Train new full-time hires in basic park and company information as well as assist them in understanding and registering for any company provided benefits which they are eligible for.
  • Assist in the management of the HR office functions to include scheduling, coverage, day-to-day functions, and professional development of seasonal HR staff.
  • Oversee all uniform operations to include inventory, ordering, and organization
  • Assist with and documents interactive accommodations process in accordance with federal, state, and local laws to determine need for accommodation; ensure complete and sufficient documentation to support medical, religious, or other reasonable accommodations for employment and/or associate housing.
  • Assist in the reviews and processes Job Performance Evaluations; Ethics Points, rehire eligibility, employee termination; Change of Status forms including data entry; prepares daily activity log and weekly reports; and coordinates and conducts review of personnel files requested by employees, former employees, and government agencies.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of Company training programs as required
  • Supports all aspects of the Human Resources administration. Ensures adequate and friendly service is provided to all who visit the Human Resources office.
  • Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure there are no interruptions to the services which Human Resources provides to park employees.
  • Communicates to employees on all levels, both seasonal and full time, to ensure compliance with corporate policy and federal / state / local employment law.
  • Supervises seasonal Human Resources staff to address performance issues, disciplinary situations, and provides input into selection, promotion, demotion, and termination decisions.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Six Flags and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Conducts internal auditing process for compliance areas within Human Resources
  • Participates in the MOD and On Call Programs.

Qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 Years Human Resources Generalist related experience 
  • 2 years’ experience directly supervising employees
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on multiple projects with associates across all levels and departments of the organization
  • Proficient in MS Suite based environment and HRIS software
  • Bachelor's Degree (4 year College or University) Human Resources (preferred)
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods on a regular basis
