Pool Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable pool environment for residents and guests during the summer season. This role monitors pool activities, enforces facility rules, provides excellent customer service, and assists with daily operations such as checking in patrons and maintaining the cleanliness of the pool deck and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, friendly, and attentive, with the ability to work outdoors in warm weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Monitor pool area to ensure compliance with posted rules and safety guidelines
• Check in residents and guests; verify passes or guest registrations
• Maintain cleanliness of pool deck, furniture, restrooms, and common areas
• Arrange chairs, umbrellas, and pool equipment as needed
• Test and record pool chemical levels (training provided)
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or rule violations to management and complete incident reports, notifying management 
• Assist with opening and closing duties of the pool facility
• Provide excellent customer service to all patrons

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Ability to work outdoors in warm weather conditions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Responsible, dependable, and punctual
• Ability to follow safety procedures and enforce pool rules respectfully
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

• Knowledge of basic pool safety rules and facility policies
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to monitor pool activities and identify safety concerns
• Ability to enforce rules respectfully and professionally
• Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in heat and varying weather conditions
• Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

•  Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
• Available to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays in response to operational needs and emergencies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

• This position works primarily outdoors at the pool facility. Employees must be comfortable working in high temperatures and maintaining professionalism in a recreational setting.
