You'll inspect damaged vehicles, prepare detailed estimates, communicate with customers and insurance companies, and work closely with the Body Shop Manager, Parts Department, and Technicians. You'll meet with customers, establish rapport, explain recommended repairs and costs, and maintain communication throughout the repair process. You'll visually inspect vehicle damage, accurately document required repairs, calculate labor and paint costs, and prepare complete estimates and repair orders. You'll review insurance company estimates for accuracy and completeness, communicate with insurance representatives when necessary, and make sure approved repairs are properly documented and completed. You'll work closely with the Parts Department to identify, order, and verify parts and materials. You'll investigate alternative sources for hard-to-find parts and ensure the correct parts are available when needed. You'll also monitor the quality of completed repairs, inspect vehicles to ensure work meets established standards, and communicate with Technicians when additional work or corrections are needed. You'll manage your own workflow, prioritize multiple repairs, maintain accurate documentation, and keep customers and the Body Shop team informed throughout the repair process.   QualificationsManagement/Business Skills Required: Knowledge of automotive systems Ability to maintain communication between the Body Shop Manager and the Parts Department Knowledge of approved and established procedures for conducting repairs Ability to stay current by reading shop manuals, technical bulletins, and attending product schools, etc. Knowledge of and ability to comply with quality control and inspection requirements in Body Shop Ability to visually inspect damage and to estimate accurately Ability to document and itemize repairs on estimate sheet Ability to estimate time of repair job for purposes of efficient scheduling Ability to review insurance company estimates for accuracy Knowledge of pans inventory and ability to order parts and materials not in inventory
