Position Summary
The IT Administrator is responsible for keeping Q's technology running. This role supports end users, maintains systems, and ensures our infrastructure is stable, secure, and efficient.
You are the first line of defense when things break and the person who makes sure they don't break again.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, printers, and network devices
- Manage system backups and support data recovery efforts
- Assist with network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless)
- Troubleshoot issues across systems, vendors, and users
- Perform routine maintenance (updates, patches, antivirus, system checks)
- Support IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and deployments
- Document systems, processes, and configurations
- Train users on tools and systems as needed
- Track and manage IT assets and equipment inventory
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- 2-5 years of relevant IT support or administration experience
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems (Linux is a plus)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Basic understanding of IT security principles and best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work on-site in Dover, NH
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications
- Experience with Microsoft environments and tools
- Exposure to firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
