Master Level Clinician



Program: ACT Team

Location: New Castle County

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours

Schedule: M-F 8a-4p

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

RHD is seeking a motived, compassionate candidate to support the individuals in the capacity of a Master Level Clinician. The Master’s Level Mental Health Professional is a licensed professional responsible for providing counseling and psychotherapy to adults with mental health and substance use disorders in an outpatient setting.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct clinical services including assessment and diagnosis, development of treatment plans, and the provision of individual, group and family therapy.
  • Responds to client emergencies. May require availability to respond to after-hour emergencies on a rotating on-call basis.
  • Works in a collegial relationship with other primary care and behavioral health, staff including but not limited to psychiatrists and nurses, to ensure the appropriate coordination of care within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Encourages staff/clients while demonstrating self-initiative in problem solving.
  • Assist in the development of data collection and analysis of the quality improvement projects.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies
  • Prepares and submits routine and special reports, inclusive of accurate data, payroll, etc., to supervisor via computer within specified time frames.
  • Participates in the development of quality improvement activities designed to enhance agency and program services
  • Engages in professional development. Responsible for keeping current in the field by attending formal and agency trainings.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least a master’s degree in social work or counseling.
  • Experience with both mental health and substance use disorders is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
  • Excellent ability to work with clients with substance abuse, co-occurring and/or mental health disorders
  • Excellent writing skills and record-keeping skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with at least 3 years minimum continuous driving experience with no serious traffic infractions.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer knowledge of MS Office and other HR applications is a plus, but not required.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, organized, and possess great follow-up skills.
  • Must have the skill/ability to collaborate, partner with, and provide exceptional customer support to a variety of affiliate partners within the organization.
  • Knowledge and experience with: Positive Approaches, Dual Diagnosis, Person Centered Thinking, Trauma Informed Care, group facilitation and staff mentoring a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent writing, documentation, and record-keeping skills; particular emphasis on Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and written behavioral/ treatment plans
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented

RESOURCES FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (RHD)

The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team is an interdisciplinary team that ensures a recovery-oriented system of care, with a full range of treatment functions, 24 hours a day, 7 days week. The program employs master’s and bachelor’s-level counselors, a registered nurse, a substance abuse specialist, a vocational specialist, a psychiatrist/APN, a peer support specialist, and program assistant. Team members work together with clients to promote symptom stability and appropriate use of medication; restore personal, community living, and social skills; promote and maintain physical health; establish access to entitlements, housing, work, and social opportunities; and promote and maintain the highest possible level of functioning in the community. This program is funded by and part of the system of public services offered by Delaware DSAMH.
