Job Summary
Day position at our Main Hospital in Dover, NH: 1-2 twelve hours shifts 6a-6:30p and several 8-hour shifts.Summary<br>Responsible for conducting and overseeing sleep studies and polysomnography procedures including comprehensive sleep assessments, records physiological data during sleep studies, and assists in diagnosing and treating various sleep disorders. Additionally, provides leadership and guidance to junior technologists and ensures the efficient operation of the sleep laboratory.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Perform and interpret sleep studies, including overnight polysomnograms, multiple sleep latency tests (MSLTs), maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWTs), and home sleep apnea testing (HSAT). <br>
-Conduct thorough patient assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with sleep medicine physicians to determine appropriate sleep study protocols and treatments. <br>
-Apply and secure electrodes on patients to record physiological data during sleep, including EEG, EOG, EMG, EKG, respiratory effort, airflow, oxygen saturation, and other relevant parameters. <br>
-Operate and maintain polysomnography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning. <br>
-Monitor patients during sleep studies, ensuring their safety, comfort, and adherence to study protocols. <br>
-Provide leadership and mentorship to junior polysomnography technologists, guiding their training and professional development. <br>
-Educate patients about sleep disorders, the purpose of sleep studies, and post-study recommendations or treatments. <br>
-Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during sleep studies. <br>

Education
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required and Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Basic Life Support required
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist [RPSGT] - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required
Experience
Polysomnography Technologist Experience 5-7 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated competence in conducting sleep studies and interpreting data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, team members, and physicians.
- Leadership abilities and a willingness to mentor and guide junior technologists.
- Proficiency in using polysomnography equipment and related software.
