Job Summary

This position is a hybrid role working at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital/MGB in Dover, NH. Full time, Monday through Friday and is benefit eligible.

The trauma registrar is responsible for collecting, coding and managing detailed information about patients treated for traumatic injury. Responsibilities include chart abstraction, data entry & coding, data validation and reporting & analysis.

The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare experience in a trauma registrar role, healthcare data analytics, chart abstraction or coding.

Summary: responsible for managing and maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of trauma patients in a healthcare facility.

Essential Functions: Collect and accurately record data related to trauma patients, including demographic information, injury details, treatment interventions, and outcomes.
-Manage the trauma registry, ensuring that it is up to date, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
-Perform regular audits of trauma data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
-Analyze trauma data to identify trends, patterns, and outcomes.
-Facilitate effective communication between the trauma team, hospital departments, and external stakeholders involved in trauma care.
-Collaborate with state and national trauma registries, as applicable, to ensure accurate reporting and benchmarking.

Education
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degreein Related Field of Study preferred.

Experience in a similar registry role preferred in a hospital or healthcare setting 3-5 years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding trauma care principles, including injury classification systems, treatment modalities, surgical procedures, and best practices in trauma management.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to trauma injuries, procedures, and medical conditions.
- Ability to collect, organize, and manage complex medical data, including patient demographics, injury details, treatment information, and outcomes.
- Skill in assigning accurate codes to injuries and diagnoses is crucial for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to generate reports and present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Understanding of data privacy and security regulations, as well as compliance requirements related to trauma registry management.
