SUMMARY
As a Cook at Modern Maturity Center, your primary responsibility will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards. Â You will work closely with the Head Cook and the kitchen team to ensure all meals are prepared and served on time. Â Your attention to detail and ability to follow recipes will be crucial in maintaining the quality and consistency of our menu. Â Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads menu and recipes to prepare food; estimates food requirements and procures food from storage.
- Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
- Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking
- Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and taking temperature
- Carves meats, portions food on serving plates, adds gravies and sauces, and garnishes servings to fill orders
- Cuts, trims, and bones meat before cooking
- Adheres to health, sanitary and safety regulations
- Ensures maintenance of a clean and sanitary kitchen
- Maintain food inventories as needed
- Ensures that serving lines have adequate supplies of food
- Receives and stores food and supplies

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Use equipment and materials properly
- Strong communication and teamwork skills                      Â

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
- ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
