Basic Function: Work with and perform survey-related duties assigned by Licensed Surveyor.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities included but not limited to: 

  • Draft base plans from field data in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2021, perform deed and plat research in various counties and states and compute and create stakeout points for field use in Civil 3D 2021.

  • Production and drafting of Topographic and Boundary Surveys.

  • Support and Draft ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Easement, Boundary Plats, and Legal Description.

  • Prepare As-built surveys.

  • Prepare and create full AutoCAD drawings beginning from field data points.

  • Generate surfaces, contours, and profiles.

  • Prepare field survey notes/drawings for plan drafting and design.

  • May involve runner/courier responsibilities that include researching plat records, dropping off plan submittals, and picking up/delivering permits.

  • Research deeds and plats needed to establish property lines.

  • Read and interpret drawings/plats for data verification and project design.

  • Some field survey work may be required, along with occasional overnight travel. 


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to read plans, plats, schematics, etc. and understand the data as it pertains to the task at hand.

  • Plan, organize, and meet deadlines.

  • Consistent work effort, dependability, and willing to learn.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and be cooperative and collaborative. 

  • Recognize, understand, and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Occasional overnight/out of town travel is required.


Education/Experience:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required

  • Surveying experience is preferred 

  • High School diploma or equivalent


Certifications/Licenses Required:

  • Valid Driver’s License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; bend; sit; crouch; and talk; and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk 6-8 hours daily, repetitive movements 6-8 hours daily, push/pull materials and equipment 6-8 hours daily, and lift/carry materials that are an average of 35 pounds up to 50 pounds 6-8 hours daily when in the field. Readiness to perform these duties in all weather conditions/climates including heat, cold, rain etc.
