RWE Planning + Design is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Architect with 2–5 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in architectural design, documentation, and Revit who is eager to continue growing professionally while contributing to a variety of healthcare, tenant improvement, renovation, and ground-up construction projects.
Responsibilities
Conceptual Design & Planning
Assist the Design Lead in developing conceptual plans based on client goals, budget, and site conditions
Perform initial building and zoning code reviews
Research jurisdictional requirements and permitting processes
Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design ideas
Coordinate with consultants and assist in preparing client deliverables
Space Planning & Technical Design
Participate in space planning focused on functionality, accessibility, and workflow
Develop and coordinate floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details
Utilize Revit to produce and coordinate project drawings
Coordinate with engineering consultants and internal project teams
Participate in design development meetings and client coordination
Code Compliance & Documentation
Apply local building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards
Prepare permit and construction document sets with guidance from senior architects
Gain experience with healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements
Project Support & Collaboration
Participate in site visits, field verification, and construction coordination
Collaborate with architects, consultants, interior designers, and contractors
Participate in client meetings and presentations
Utilize RWE software systems for project workflow, scheduling, and meeting documentation
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
2-5 years of professional architectural experience required
Strong working knowledge of Revit required
Experience producing construction documents and coordinating drawing sets
Basic understanding of building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Desire to pursue (or continue pursuing) architectural licensure
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
