ARCO/Murray National Construction is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Energy & Infrastructure team in Downers Grove, IL or Chicago, IL.

Our Energy & Infrastructure team delivers power generation, battery energy storage systems, substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and other high-demand utility projects. Project Managers at ARCO have complete responsibility for project performance, customer satisfaction, and taking projects from design to completion. Each Project Manager has full profit and performance responsibility for his or her projects and unlimited growth potential.

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Provide project management for the full life cycle of power, BESS, utility, and related infrastructure projects, from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Take ownership of the managerial and administrative aspects of each project, including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reporting, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation.

  • Work closely with owners, engineers, designers, utilities, equipment vendors, and trade partners to define project scope, establish goals, and develop executable plans.

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, cost forecasts, and project controls; identify variances and take corrective action when needed.

  • Participate in proposal and estimate reviews with owners, including scope alignment, value engineering, constructability, and cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Lead the buyout process and support the selection, contracting, and management of subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Coordinate long-lead equipment, utility interfaces, permitting requirements, design deliverables, and field activities to protect project milestones.

  • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards while leading multidisciplinary teams through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.

  • Conduct regular project and jobsite meetings; communicate clearly with owners, leadership, design partners, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

  • Manage project changes, risks, claims, and commercial issues with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

  • Maintain a consistent focus on safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction throughout project execution.

  • Support commissioning, startup, energization, and owner turnover activities for electrical and utility infrastructure systems.

  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities simultaneously under tight deadlines and drive each project to 100% completion.

  • Communicate openly with leadership and team members, and help develop interns, co-ops, and less-experienced associates.

  • Travel to project sites and spend regular time in the field as needed to support project execution.


NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering or related field
  • 2-5 years of construction management and/or engineering design experience 
  • Experience delivering power generation, battery energy storage, substations, transmission and distribution, or other utility infrastructure projects preferred.

  • Experience with design-build or EPC project delivery preferred

  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
