Job Description:
Position Summary
Responsible for journal entries, financial analysis, and reconciliations related to the monthly accounting close. Also responsible for cost of sale invoices for assigned regions, which includes reviewing intercompany and 3rd party supplier invoicing against estimated costs within the company’s travel system, researching discrepancies, processing final invoices, and acting as primary liaison with suppliers in terms of payments and reconciliation of vendor accounts and intercompany balances.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Prepare and record assigned journal entries, financial analysis, and account reconciliations.
Process all intercompany and 3rd party vendor invoicing for assigned regions. Assist team members with invoicing for other regions as needed.
Ensure the monthly close cycle is completed within given deadlines and that all required journal entries are recorded in the proper month, utilizing the appropriate accounting and analysis codes.
Prepare and submit payment requests for all 3rd party vendors in assigned areas on a timely basis and within supplier terms.
Prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations, with reconciling items cleared within one month.
Assist in financial system implementations and maintenance, as well as ongoing review and identification of system and process improvements.
Special projects as assigned.
Other areas as assigned by the Controller.
Skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; advanced MS Excel skills required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and deliver on expectations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience working with accounting software.
Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to read/write/speak in English.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
CPA or MBA required. CPA preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Pay Rate
Starting at $40.00/hour
