Job Details

Eight or more years of experience with diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and material approval.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Architecture, minimum of 8 Years of experience in architecture

Job Specific Qualifications

Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in broad array of assignments and related fields
Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities
Requires use of advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices of individual's field.
Organized
Ability to delegate assignments to support staff and always be respectful
Have working knowledge and follows SWA procedures, standards, and protocols
Professional attitude and appearance
Demonstrate proficiency in some applications and multimedia software (Lumion, Excel, Word, InDesign, Microsoft Project, Photoshop)
Works well with others
Annual 5 hours of ADA Continuing Education
Knowledge of applicable building code and applications
Willingness and hunger for expansion of knowledge (LEED/Sustainable Certification, licensure, etc.)

Job Responsibilities

May supervise a small staff of architects and technicians.
Supervision and guidance mainly concern overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
Responsible for finished plans, specifications, or approval of materials and construction
Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects.
Establish productive working relationships, and deal effectively and cooperatively with team members, consultants, and government agencies
Coordinate projects with team members and consultants for conflicts and discrepancies
Write meeting minutes and professional correspondence
Assist in the preparation of work plans and schedules
Coordinate drawings with consultant drawings and specifications
Assist in review of submittals, shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and preparation of instruction bulletins for changes
Provides mentorship/Meets regularly with mentor
May manage small projects
