RN Nurse Manager
Location: CHOR Reading, Reading, PA

Position Summary
The RN Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall management of nursing services within CHOR Reading. This role provides clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care. The Nurse Manager oversees medical services, regulatory compliance, staff development, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for the individuals served.Â
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other assigned clinical staff.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Clinical Operations
- Oversee the medical and psychiatric health needs of individuals served.
- Review, implement, and monitor physician orders, treatment plans, and nursing interventions.
- Assess and respond to ongoing, emerging, and urgent health concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, program leadership, and external healthcare providers.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and agency regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Conduct chart audits and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Support incident review, medication management, infection control, and risk management activities.
Staffing & Scheduling
- Manage nursing schedules, coverage plans, time-off requests, call-offs, and on-call needs.
- Ensure adequate nursing coverage to meet program and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor staffing needs and make recommendations regarding workforce planning.
Team Collaboration
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Serve as a clinical resource to program staff, families, and stakeholders.
- Partner with leadership to support program goals, quality initiatives, and employee engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health populations, developmental disabilities, residential treatment, or human services preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.Â
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and navigate program environments.
- Ability to travel between program locations as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.Â
