ABOUT THE POSITION

As part of a team, design, build, and operate enterprise infrastructure end to end, with a strong focus on hybrid cloud (Azure and AWS), automation, and modern Platform Engineering practices. Help transition our on-prem datacenter into a modern hybrid public/private cloud architecture with an emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management pipelines. Help prepare, maintain, and transition internal infrastructure to SaaS platforms where needed. Lead initiatives to integrate and automate systems using Terraform, IaC, and scripting languages to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient solutions aligned with cloud adoption and well-architected principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hybrid Cloud Foundations (Azure + AWS + On-Prem)

• Design, build, and operate core cloud foundations and landing zones including networking, identity, security guardrails, logging/monitoring, and governance across Azure and AWS, integrated with on-prem computing, storage, and backup infrastructure (private cloud).
• Apply well-architected and least-privilege practices; optimize cost, observability, and performance for hybrid workloads.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Own Infrastructure Terraform: build and maintain reusable modules and enforce changes through code review and CI/CD to reduce drift for our cloud and on-premises datacenter infrastructures.

• Work with our Platform Engineering teams to ensure standards and governance are aligned.
• Automate configuration management and operations across Linux and Windows using Python, PowerShell, and tooling such as Ansible.

Identity, Certificates & Core Infrastructure

• Administer and engineer identity and certificate systems such as Entra ID, Active Directory, LDAP, IAM, and enterprise certificate management as a system.
• Operate and modernize on-prem compute (VMware, OLVM/KVM) and core Windows/Linux systems into hybrid IaC patterns.

Operations & Reliability

• Triage P1/P2 incidents, drive root cause analysis to closure, and maintain runbooks and SOPs.
• Lead infrastructure projects, partner cross-functionally, and mentor engineers.
• Guide and develop operations teams, building their skills and confidence across the hybrid platform.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years in systems or platform engineering, including enterprise-scale public cloud experience (Azure and AWS).
• Solid expertise in Terraform and IaC best practices.
• Strong configuration management and automation experience (Linux and Windows).
• Strong scripting skills in Python and/or PowerShell.
• On-prem systems engineering depth, including VMware and KVM-style platforms.
• Proven delivery: leads infrastructure projects, drives incidents and RCAs to closure, and works as a low-ego team player.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Certifications (a plus, not required): Azure (AZ-305 Solutions Architect or AZ-104 Administrator) and/or AWS (Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator); HashiCorp Terraform Associate (Professional a strong plus).
• Strong hands-on experience with storage, SAN, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with VMware and OLVM/KVM platforms in production environments.
• Experience managing and monitoring Kubernetes and Docker runtimes.
• Experience migrating services to SaaS platforms and operating hybrid integration patterns.
• Experience with multi-account governance patterns and landing zone operations.
