Basic Purpose and Objective
Applications Engineer to design and specify installation systems for mechanically attached fasteners. PROFIL specializes in mechanically attached fasteners (MAF) both in die (Transfer & Progressive) and Manual operations (C- frame & Hand load cell).
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with customer to clarify and document customer system needs: Fastener type, panel info, vehicle platform
- Assess and document installation feasibility through CAD integration of tooling into panel
- Specify and document all components needed to meet customer installation requirements
- Perform tooling design/modifications and document as well as work with Design group for creation of new tools
- Create budgetary quote based on system specification. Follow up with customer(s) for official quote and receipt of PO. Determine and document required delivery dates
- Monitor progress of system components to assure on-time delivery
- Provide ongoing support for customer production needs.
- Assist Service Team to diagnose & troubleshoot issues with installation heads, fastener feeders, and electropneumatic kits (in-die & manual operations)
- Cooperate with team providing feedback for improvement opportunities and lessons learned
- Work with customer to clarify, document and manage quotes for fasteners
- Safety:
- Follow all safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees.
- Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non-conformances to company safety policies and guidelines
- Perform the necessary safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees
Work Environment:
- Air-conditioned office and works in an unairconditioned manufacturing facility
- Requires travel 25-50% in the surrounding states.
- Overnight travel may be required
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree mechanical engineering or related field preferred
- Proven competency in mechanical and electropneumatic systems (simple and complex)
- Basic practical knowledge of HMI/PLC (Allen Bradley & Siemens)
- Strong interpersonal skills are required for communicating with the team and the customer
- Experience in tool & die (Presses & Dies) is beneficial but not required
- Good verbal and written skills are highly sought VIA Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)

Position Type/Expectations of Working Hours
- Full time position
- Regularly scheduled to work 8 – 10 hours a day
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday
