What the Senior Accountant, Tax role will offer you:

As a Senior Accountant, Tax you will work in-person as part of a team of professionals who are committed to delivering quality service to individual and business clients.

The responsibilities as a Senior Accountant, Tax will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership tax returns including multi-state returns.
  • Produce quarter-end and year-end workpapers, including capital schedules, business schedules, tax accruals, and fixed asset details.
  • Gain knowledge in deferred income taxes, tax-exempt organizations, trusts, real estate transactions, and advanced S corporation concepts.
  • Perform an in-depth look at Form 990 and all related schedules.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from partners, managers, clients, and the public.
  • Perform all aspects of compilations and reviews.
  • Assist with shareholder compensation planning, Section 1244, and Stock tax treatment.
  • Handle the basic concept of estate planning.
  • Advantages and disadvantages comparison of Business Entities.
  • Understand Business Acquisition basics.
  • Identify and communicate accounting matters to managers and partners.
  • Learn and uphold the Firm’s expectations for work quality and professional development as well as the Firm’s cultural and core values.
  • Follow the progress of engagements and help to identify and research accounting and auditing issues as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Working to obtain 150 credits; eligible to sit for the CPA exam or have already obtained the CPA designation.
  • 3-6 years minimum of experience in public accounting.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and/or regulations impacting each engagement or project, financial markets, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks; Familiar with Thomson Reuters software.
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, self-starters, and demonstrate excellent computer, analytical and effective communication skills.
  • Transportation with the ability to travel to client sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
