Job Description:
PURPOSE
In this Columbus, Ohio based hybrid role, you will serve as the enterprise technical owner of National Church Residences’ Microsoft 365 tenant, overseeing Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and related services. This senior-level, individual contributor role is responsible for platform ownership, governance, security, and overall tenant health.
Acting as the primary internal authority for Microsoft 365, you work closely with IT Security, Application Services, data platform teams, and an external Managed Services Provider (MSP) to ensure a secure, compliant, and high-performing collaboration environment aligned to business and technology roadmaps.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Own the configuration, monitoring, and optimization of all Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online/OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune
- Ensure platform health, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and coordination with Microsoft Support
- Manage Microsoft 365 licensing, service capacity planning, and feature enablement aligned to organizational needs
- Administer identity and access management using Entra ID, including user lifecycle processes, role-based access, Conditional Access policies, and Multi-Factor Authentication
- Maintain secure hybrid identity integrations and auditable records for access, permissions, and changes
- Implement and enforce Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls including DLP, email security, Conditional Access, Intune device compliance, and Purview capabilities
- Partner with Information Security to align Microsoft 365 configurations with Zero Trust principles, CIS benchmarks, and regulatory requirements
- Define and manage the operating model with the external MSP, ensuring clear ownership, ITIL-based change management, and effective Level 1/2 support
- Serve as the primary escalation point and vendor liaison for Microsoft 365 issues, reviewing MSP performance, SLAs, and driving service improvements
- Lead Microsoft 365 roadmap initiatives including Purview data governance, Microsoft Fabric alignment, Syntex, Copilot, and tenant-level feature rollouts
- Support strategic initiatives such as intranet migration to SharePoint Online, ensuring strong information architecture, permissions, and user adoption
- Drive operational excellence through automation (PowerShell), configuration optimization, documentation, and runbook development
- Provide guidance, training, and knowledge transfer to internal IT teams and key business users on Microsoft 365 best practices

Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
- Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 services at enterprise scale
- Understanding of healthcare or nonprofit compliance requirements such as HIPAA preferred
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent certifications preferred
- Additional Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator or Security Administrator preferred
Skills:
- Excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep expertise in Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online/OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Strong experience with identity and access management including MFA, Conditional Access, and SSO
- Hands-on experience managing Intune device and application policies
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 administration and automation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview compliance and data governance capabilities
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience coordinating with vendors or MSPs supporting enterprise platforms
- Experience supporting Microsoft Power Platform, Viva, Syntex, or Copilot capabilities
- Experience leading or contributing to large-scale Microsoft 365 migrations or tenant initiatives
- Familiarity with ITIL-aligned change management practices
- Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self-understood.
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel from Central Ohio up to 5%
