Are you a motivated leader looking to take the next step in your retail management career? Big 10 Mart is seeking high potential candidates for our Store Manager In Training (MIT) Program. This intensive 6 week course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and hands on experience needed to become a successful Big 10 Mart Store Manager.

As a Store Manager In Training, you will learn every aspect of operating a high volume convenience store and fuel station, from financial management and merchandising to team leadership and customer service excellence. Upon successful completion of the program.

What You'll Learn

During the 6-week training program, you will gain practical experience in:

  • Store operations and daily management
  • Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis and financial performance management
  • Labor scheduling and payroll management
  • Inventory control and loss prevention
  • Fuel operations and compliance standards
  • Sales growth strategies and merchandising
  • Team development, coaching, and performance management
  • Customer service and guest experience excellence
  • Safety, food service, and regulatory compliance
  • Recruiting, hiring, and employee retention strategies
  • Driving operational excellence and store profitability

Key Responsibilities

After successful completion of training, Store Managers will be expected to:

  • Lead and motivate store teams to achieve operational and financial goals
  • Manage all aspects of store profitability, including sales, labor, expenses, and shrink
  • Analyze and interpret P&L statements to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members
  • Create a positive, accountable, and results-driven work environment
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained
  • Oversee inventory management and merchandising execution
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive sales growth through effective marketing, merchandising, and community engagement
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma required or Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of retail, convenience store, restaurant, or customer service leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred

  • Previous convenience store, fuel station, retail, or food service management experience
  • Experience managing labor budgets and financial performance
  • Experience with inventory management and merchandising programs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to perform all essential store functions when needed
