Crane Rigger

Job DetailsJob Location: Duffield - Duffield, VA 24244 Responsible for the movement of concrete shelters to Customer fit-out Building, to storage yard and load shelters on trucks for shipment. Ensure safety procedures are followed in movement of shelters and operation of crane.   Maintain crane by inspecting daily for defects or wear, check control, instruments and gauges. Be aware of how much material can be safely hoisted in each load according to the crane’s capacity and the weather conditions (e.g. high winds). Move the crane and position the hoist so that the shelter is ready for lifting. Directs the moving and positioning of shelters. Lower shelter to it is about 6” off the ground or truck bed and centers before setting on truck bed or ground. Provides upkeep and maintenance on back lot and yard, by mowing, cleaning up, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications  High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Must have above average mechanical ability and must understand the workings of crane.  Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be safety conscious. Ability to solve problems in a variety of standardized situation.
