Overview

Join our team as an Access & Escort Specialist II, where you'll play a vital role in protecting sensitive facilities, personnel, and operations within a secure federal government environment. This position combines security operations, access control, visitor management, and personnel oversight to help ensure compliance with security requirements while supporting critical mission activities. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to secure and restricted areas, ensuring compliance with security procedures, visitor requirements, and site regulations.  

  • Escort uncleared visitors, contractors, vendors, and other authorized personnel throughout designated facilities and work areas.  

  • Maintain continuous visual observation of escorted personnel to ensure compliance with access restrictions and security requirements.  

  • Conduct security-related checks and monitor activities within controlled environments to protect sensitive information, equipment, and facilities.  

  • Verify credentials, badges, visitor authorizations, and access permissions before granting entry to controlled areas.  

  • Collect, review, process, and safeguard sensitive information required for visitor access requests and background screening activities.  

  • Assist with visitor management processes, including scheduling, documentation, credential verification, and access approvals.  

  • Ensure sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII) is handled securely and in accordance with established privacy and security requirements.  

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to access control, visitor processing, and escort activities.  

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

 

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.  

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in physical security, personnel security, access control, force protection, military security, visitor management, or a related security environment.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, Business, or a related field may substitute for some experience requirements.  

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain mobile for extended periods throughout the workday.  

  • Ability to work a consistent full-time or part-time schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call assignments when required.  

  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.  

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.  

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to security compliance.  

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of access control procedures, escort operations, visitor processing, and physical security principles.  

  • Understanding of security protocols, controlled environments, and protection of sensitive information.  

  • Familiarity with federal security requirements and personnel security practices is preferred.  

  • Strong observation and situational awareness skills.  

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.  

  • Effective organizational and recordkeeping abilities.  

  • Ability to use computers, visitor management systems, and access control software.  

  • Ability to operate handheld radios and communications equipment.  

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
