Abaco Systems is looking for an Electronic Debug Technician to join our team here in Huntsville. This individual will have a proven background in troubleshooting electronic assemblies and will work closely with other departments in our organization to help us to continue to deliver quality products to our customers. 

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Electronic Debug Technicians are responsible for conducting component-level debugging
  • Conduct component-level debugging with the aid of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other Test assets
  • Utilizing in-system device programming tools such as Altera, Lattice or Xilinx
  • Use engineering documents such as schematics, source code and CAD files
  • Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
  • Meet daily and help manage Aged Work-In-Process (WIP)
  • Follow and enforce all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines
  • Technicians will be responsible for providing defect and possible root cause feedback to manufacturing Engineering to help drive corrective action
  • Debugging of copper or optical fiber networking products as well as computer circuit card assemblies

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2 or 4 year degree in electronics preferred
  • Understand how electronic components function and what they do
  • 3+ years’ experience debugging electronic circuit card assemblies
  • RF experience desired
  • Ability to interpret schematics, component datasheets, and product manuals
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. 

 

 Skills & Competencies:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Understanding of high-speed bus structures and power supply operational theory
  • Familiarity with computer circuitry and its functionality including functionality of computer peripherals
