Overview

As our Data Science & AI Intern, you'll work directly with the Director of Operations and our data analytics team to implement machine learning solutions and data automation processes that drive operational efficiency. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in applying AI technologies to real-world logistics challenges with potential for future employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational datasets to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to enhance predictive capabilities
  • Create automated data processing workflows using Python and other relevant technologies
  • Collaborate with the data analytics team on special projects and initiatives
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership team
  • Document processes, methodologies, and results for knowledge transfer
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new AI tools and technologies
  • Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday work

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Intermediate proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.)
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, Neural Network or PyTorch)
  • Basic knowledge of database querying (SQL)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • In-office position at our Sterling, VA headquarters
