Linux System Administrator-Senior Level

Nightwing is seeking a highly motivated SystemsAdministrator to join a mature program in the Sterling VA location. The qualified SystemsAdministrator will support a very dynamic program in a world-class operations facility and must have a broad range of experience supporting mission critical networks and computer systems. 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: TS/SCI with POLY

Responsibilities 

• Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, VMs, networks, and data storage solutions 

• Provide advanced technical support and guidance for system-related issues, ensuring high performance, security, and availability of IT systems 

• Coordinate and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, and network improvements ensuring projects are delivered on time 

• Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures, ensuring that all IT systems comply with industry regulations and organizational policies 
   

Required Skills 

• 5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting complex network problems 

• 5+ years’ experience in communicating with customer representatives in a variety of forums, in both written and spoken form, regarding technical subjects 

• 5+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, and/or network/systems administration 

• Proficiency experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) workstations and servers, including installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting 

• Working knowledge of an orchestrationandautomationtool such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef, etc. 

• Ability to optimize, secure, and manage servers to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability 

• Knowledge of advanced features such as virtualization, automation, and patch management with the ability to integrate these systems to support organizational requirements 

• Experience with administering and managing user and system accounts on Linux distributions 

• Ability to manage serves, workstations, users, identity policies, etc. using FreeIPA 

• Hands on experience with Physical rack installations, troubleshooting, and system integration 

• Experience with network troubleshooting and configuration 

• Experience with following the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)or NIST Special Publications, to ensure IT devices are properly configured and secured 

• Experienced with hardening systems across various platforms usingSTIGs to mitigate vulnerabilities and to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements 

• Experience with administering and managing user and system accounts on Linux distributions 

• Ability to manage serves, workstations, users, identity policies, etc. usingFreeIPA 

• Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills 

• Experience with cybersecurity practices and compliance 

• Understanding and willingness to learn configuration and maintain virtual server environments 

• Knowledge in device/equipment integration into graphical user interfaces (GUI) for monitoring systems, utilizing various software suites 

Desired Skills 

• Experience with managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls 

• Ability to operate in a high-speed environment with changing and evolving mission priorities 

• Experience with Cisco iOS and NetAPP (or network storage)

Required Education:  

•Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Computer Science,or another related field
