About this Position

The Senior Tax Accountant position requires the following: 1) A good understanding of income tax compliance processes sufficient to effectively and efficiently assist with the timely completion and filing of consolidated U.S. federal and state income tax returns and separate state income tax returns. 2) A good understanding of calculating taxable income and related income taxes to properly determine estimated payment remittances. 3) Willingness to further one's understanding of income tax provision principles and appropriate documentation. 4) Communication and organizational skills to effectively assist with internal and external communications. 5) Desire to be a valuable contributor and member of the corporate tax team.

The estimated salary range for this role is: 80K - 110K USD Annual

Responsibilities & Qualifications

U.S. federal and state income tax returns  -  Creating appropriate working papers, managing the input into the income tax return software, collaborating with teammates to ensure efficient and effective production of both federal and state income tax returns, and assist with any other efforts necessary to properly complete and timely file the returns.
Estimated payments, extensions and U.S. international forms  -  Working with teammates to properly calculate U.S. federal and state estimated payments and extension payments, process and remit payments timely, effectively manage cash payments schedule, and take responsibility for assisting with the proper preparation and completion of international tax forms.
Statutory and stand-alone U.S. GAAP provisions  -  Work with VP to learn proper preparation of statutory provisions, take initiative to study and learn statutory book and tax principles, assist with bridging statutory provisions into U.S. GAAP provisions, and assist with some stand-alone U.S. GAAP provisions.
Responding to and managing of federal or state inquiries, notices, and audits  -  Organize and manage master list of outstanding and closed inquires, notices and audits, collaborate with teammates to determine appropriate responses, draft responses and submit to teammates for review, gather documentation to adhere to any information requests, and assist with any other necessary task to help the organization effectively respond and manage federal or state tax matters.
Research and special projects  -  Utilize tax research tools to address specific tax matters, draft research memos, and support teammates with any other special tax-related projects.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
Performs other related duties as required.

Provides training, guidance or mentoring to team members; no formal supervisory responsibilities.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field preferred.

Minimum 2 - 3 years professional experience with Big 4 or regional accounting firms preferred, but industry experience is acceptable.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, OneSource Income Tax experience preferred.

Experience with ERP general ledger systems and tools preferred.

CPA license holder or CPA exam candidate preferred.

Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment : Regular office environment. May sit for long periods of time.
