Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Associate Project ManagerĀ to join our team.
The Associate Project Manager supports planning and coordination of crossāfunctional teams to achieve project success. This role applies technicalĀ expertiseĀ and project management fundamentals toĀ establishĀ an objective assessment of the projectās goals, requirements, and constraints. Executing project plans,Ā monitoringĀ project performance, and mitigating risk will beĀ requiredĀ daily. This role willĀ partnerĀ with the Project Managers, Team Supervisor, and program director to manage relationships with clients.Ā
Responsibilities:Ā

Work closely with the Project Manager, Project ManagementĀ DepartmentĀ and key stakeholders to:Ā

Develop proposals complete with cost and resource estimates.Ā Ā

IdentifyĀ key deliverables and milestones.Ā

Establish baselines for project Scope, Schedule, Resources, and BudgetĀ

Develop and execute project management plansĀ

Support Project Manager to develop projectĀ charter, project workĀ plansĀ and kick-off meetings.Ā

Collaborate andĀ assistĀ Project ManagerĀ onĀ assigned tasks.Ā

Communicate project plans to teams and gain stakeholderĀ buyāinĀ for successful execution of projects.Ā

Provide support and frequent communication and guidance to project stakeholders.Ā
-
Support the management of project plans (scope, deliverables, %work complete, budget and schedule)Ā
-
IdentifyĀ issues and risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, provideĀ change management when necessary.Ā
-
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and Management for acceptable resource allocation.Ā

Provide conflict management as necessary during key project decisions.Ā Ā

In coordination with Project Manager responsible for:Ā

Facilitating Project Meetings; both internal and external stakeholdersĀ

Maintaining Project Management tools such as action item log, transmittal log, change order log, decision log, etc.Ā Ā

Reviewing project progress & risks to ensure milestones are being metĀ

IdentifyingĀ and estimating Change OrdersĀ

Frequently gathering & reporting Project Performance Metrics and Status ReportsĀ Ā

Maintaining project scheduleĀ

EnsuresĀ all OQ, Safety, and Quality requirements are met.Ā

Provide oversight for Project Coordinators on subāprojects or smaller,Ā low riskĀ projectsĀ

Provide direct support to Project Manager and Program Managers for large, complex projects or programsĀ

Evaluate goals,Ā objectives, and deliverables to meet final project requirementsĀ
-
Evaluate project performance with an emphasis on final costs to complete, lessons learned and close out activities.Ā Ā

Work withĀ ProjectĀ Management Department on department goals and continuous improvement initiatives.Ā Ā
Position Requirements:Ā
Education, Certifications/Licenses, Experience:Ā

Bachelorās degree in engineering, project management, or related technical discipline preferred.Ā

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator (or equivalent experience)Ā requiredĀ
-
CAPMĀ® certificationĀ preferred.Ā
-
Technical experience in a science orĀ engineering relatedĀ fieldĀ preferred.Ā Ā
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Ā

Working knowledge of project management concepts and tools with aspirations to further develop skills and knowledge base.Ā

Strong desireĀ to improve your leadership skills, with a proven history of successfully leading projects.Ā

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a variety of locations and work environments.Ā

Experience withĀ developing and managing project schedules.Ā

Sound financial skills, and the ability to interpret budgetary data.Ā

Proficient withĀ Microsoft Office softwareĀ
-
Ability to read/interpret basic technical information.Ā

Working knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements that govern the oil and natural gas pipeline industry (49 CFR Part 192 & 195) preferred.Ā
Physical Requirements and Demands:Ā

Ability to work in an office environment where long hours of sitting may beĀ requiredĀ as well as travel to nonstandard workplaces to meet project and organizational requirements.Ā

Ability to work a standard work week and meet requirements to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones and leadership responsibilities.Ā

Ability to travel to the field 20% of the time for client meetings and project reviews.Ā

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $105,000.
