Job Summary

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and manufacturing processes for Aspen Aerials bridge inspection units. This role supports the company’s goals of innovation, efficiency, and quality through engineering design, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems and components for new and existing product lines.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new products or product improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ANSI A92.20).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, DraftSight).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities.
  • Primarily office and manufacturing floor environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Time Manufacturing or similar equipment (aerial lifts, cranes, or utility trucks).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering (preferably in heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication processes.
