Airgas is hiring for a Sales Director in Duluth, GA!

The Telesales Channel Director of Sales role is responsible for the leadership and management of sales, customer service and other adjunct support functions located within their call center. The position maintains responsibility for driving organic sales and profitability growth by controlling branch sales expenses, upholding consistency in team management of channel key performance indicators, statistics and sales skill development.

The Director of Sales must be a highly motivated leader, committed to developing the careers of Managers and Staff within this vital sales growth channel. Success in this role also requires a strong strategic vision and the ability to navigate complex challenges, such as customer win-backs, channel management/migration, and vendor relationships. As a key member of the Telesales Leadership Team, the Director of Sales will collaborate across all organizational facets to continuously enhance Airgas's standing as both a vendor and an employer. This position requires a passion for driving sales excellence and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Strategy

  • Guide leaders and drive profitable growth within the telesales channel at directly assigned locations and influence at all locations throughout the nation.

  • Foster a positive and high-performing team culture by promoting collaboration, accountability, consistency and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee recruitment, total headcount vs. needs, with strong emphasis on emotional intelligence and servant leadership towards retention of engaged personnel.

  • Lead and develop manager bench strength, including managing details and assisting them in career development.

  • Oversee the continued development and rollout of improvement initiative tools.

  • Ensure that the channel is at the forefront of high-quality Customer Experience (CX) initiatives.

  • Manage change and ambiguity, leading reports through to clarity.

  • Confront and lead the resolution of issues and drive simplification to maximize selling time.

  • Collaborate and partner with vendors to achieve maximum growth and strong partnership outcomes.

  • Manage focused toward long-term success for Airgas overall.

Financial and Operational Management

  • Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities.

  • Ensure resources are properly aligned with overall Airgas sales growth and budgeted goals.

  • Manage strict control on sales and operating expense budget/goal setting, Total Access channel assignments and movement of budget with the highest discipline.

  • Manage operating expenses specific to selling, primarily payroll, cost of sales, and T&E, ensuring adherence to all company policies.

  • Manage compensation and headcount ROI  to achieve company goals and promote behavior and decision making to benefit Airgas

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, as well as fair and consistent structural practices via channel policies and KPI consistency and management throughout.

  • Collaborate with all internal departments to drive solutions that derive greater efficiency and productivity, ensuring the channel's contribution toward achievement of efficiency targets.

Are you a MATCH?

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or other advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales and sales management experience, including leading and managing an office with multiple teams.

  • Proven track record of success in an inside sales leadership role.

  • Demonstrated history of achieving profitable growth.

  • Prior profit and loss management responsibilities or significant background/experience in accounting and finance, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of telesales strategies, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Executive-level business acumen, creativity, and strategic agility.

  • A broad understanding of Airgas’ Regional and Strategic sales models, customer-focused culture, supply chain distribution resources, and a strong understanding of the telesales model/operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven leadership and success in navigating and managing people, strategies, and objectives in a matrix environment/culture.

  • Ability to manage the channel collaboratively, and through heavy consultation with high performing site leaders, as well as the overall organization’s guidance toward general operations and customer experience excellence.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.

  • Travel: Ability to travel at least 15%.
