Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the eCommerce Digital Sales Manager is to drive revenue growth and commercial performance across the company’s Shopify eCommerce channels. This role serves as the business owner of the Shopify platform, overseeing sales performance, customer acquisition strategy, digital merchandising, conversion optimization, promotional planning, and agency governance. The eCommerce Digital Sales Manager partners with cross-functional teams to ensure the achievement of revenue goals, customer growth objectives, and overall eCommerce profitability.

 

Essential Duties

  • Owns Shopify revenue performance, sales forecasting, budget management, and achievement of annual and monthly growth targets.
  • Develops and manages commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability across Shopify channels.
  • Monitors and manages key business metrics including revenue, conversion rate, average order value (AOV), customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), customer lifetime value (LTV), repeat purchase rate, and margin contribution.
  • Creates and presents weekly, monthly, and quarterly business performance reviews, forecasts, and variance analyses to leadership.
  • Oversees paid media strategies across Google, Bing, social media, retargeting, affiliate, influencer, and other acquisition channels.
  • Defines campaign priorities, budget allocation, customer acquisition objectives, testing strategies, channel mix, and performance targets.
  • Leads external agency relationships to ensure alignment with company objectives, performance expectations, and reporting requirements.
  • Reviews and approves campaign strategies, major budget changes, optimization plans, testing initiatives, and performance recommendations.
  • Owns organic growth initiatives including SEO, educational content, video content, affiliate marketing, and influencer programs.
  • Directs Shopify growth strategies including digital merchandising, pricing actions, promotional calendars, bundling strategies, collection management, and customer experience improvements.
  • Establishes and prioritizes conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives across homepage, product pages, collections, checkout, landing pages, and post-purchase experiences.
  • Partners with the eCommerce Marketing Specialist to execute marketing campaigns, website enhancements, content improvements, and testing programs.
  • Integrates customer, traffic, and campaign insights into merchandising, promotional, and content strategies.
  • Manages and develops direct reports, including the eCommerce Marketing Specialist and Customer Experience Manager, ensuring alignment with business objectives and departmental priorities.
  • Collaborates with Product Management, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Marketing teams to support product launches, inventory planning, pricing decisions, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Maintains documentation related to strategic decisions, testing initiatives, operational risks, promotions, customer insights, and agency activities.
  • Keeps abreast of digital commerce trends, technologies, and industry best practices to ensure competitive performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in eCommerce, direct-to-consumer (DTC), digital commerce, Shopify, or related growth-focused sales environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing revenue performance and commercial outcomes for an eCommerce business.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels including Google Ads, paid social media, retargeting, SEO, affiliate marketing, and influencer strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting KPIs, forecasting sales performance, and driving data-based decisions.
  • Experience managing agencies, external vendors, and cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and business acumen.

Preferred

  • Experience within industrial, HVAC, tools, contractor-focused, building products, manufacturing, or durable goods industries.
  • Advanced experience with Shopify and related eCommerce technology platforms.
  • Experience managing both B2B and B2C customer acquisition and retention programs.
