Job Purpose/Description. The Exercise Physiology Graduate Assistant (EXP GA) will assist one or more EXP faculty with undergraduate EXP course lectures/lab activities and research projects in addition to being responsible for maintaining the equipment in the EXP laboratories under the direction of the Laboratory Director. Appropriate candidates for this position will possess a strong academic background in exercise physiology (including laboratory techniques), research experience (IRB submission, study design, data collection, and presentation of results), good time management and interpersonal communication skills, and an ability to work independently.Â
Job Duties. 1) Assist with grading student work in one or more EXP undergraduate courses. 2) Assist with supervision of undergraduate EXP labs associated with course(s). 3) Lead course lectures/labs when instructor has a scheduled absence for travel, etc. 4) Host weekly office hours to assist students with test preparation and written assignments. 5) Assist with faculty and student research projects. 6) Regularly maintain/calibrate laboratory equipment. 7) Regularly clean/organize lab and lab equipment. 8) Prepare lab setup for weekly class lab meetings.
Required Qualifications. 1) Must be currently enrolled in the Exercise Physiology MS program at CSS. 2) Undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or closely related field (e.g., exercise science, health and human performance, kinesiology). 3) Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50 or higher. 4) Certified in basic life support (BLS) by start date. 5) Federal work study eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications. 1) Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.65 or higher. 2) Research experience. 3) Familiarity with metabolic analyzing systems
