We are looking for a Garden Maintenance Technician to care for and maintain residential and commercial landscapes across Duluth. Join our skilled team and help keep gardens healthy, vibrant, and weed-free.

What You’ll Do

Garden Bed Care & Maintenance

  • Remove and prevent weeds using hand-pulling, hoeing, and mulching
  • Cultivate and amend soil for healthy growth
  • Prune and trim plants, shrubs, and small trees

Planting & Transplanting

  • Install seasonal flowers, shrubs, and plants
  • Remove and replace dead or damaged plant material

Mulching & Edging

  • Apply mulch to retain moisture and enhance appearance
  • Maintain clean, defined edges around beds

Pest & Disease Management

  • Identify common pests and plant health issues
  • Take action to protect plants

General Maintenance

  • Keep garden beds free of debris and litter
  • Monitor plant health and watering needs

Irrigation (Training Provided)

  • Assist with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
  • Help troubleshoot and repair common issues

Note: Duties may vary based on seasonal needs and company priorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2 years experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or related work
  • Basic horticulture training or coursework (preferred)
  • Knowledge of common plants, shrubs, and trees in the Northland
  • Ability to identify plant health issues (pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Comfortable with physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions

Job Details

  • Type: Full-time, Seasonal 
  • Schedule: This seasonal position typically works 40+ hours per week. Overtime and extended hours may be required based on seasonal demands, weather conditions, project schedules, and business needs. 
  • Pay: $19–$23/hour

Benefits & Perks

  • Health & Dental Insurance ( Must qualify under full time status)
  •  Referral program- $500 Bonus + $1 over ride for 12 months. 
  •  OT Pay: 1 & ½ time pay after 40 hours/week

  •  Minnesota Sick & Safe time:1hr for every 30 hours worked.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (required)
  • Minnesota DOT Medical Card (Obtain prior to Hire)
