The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day Inventory Control activities.  This individual will ensure that daily cycle counts are completed and reconciled within one day.  This will involve working with other departments to address root causes of discrepancies.  They will complete all inventory transactions which would include scrap, transfers, reclassifications and issues as requested via material movement paperwork.  This individual will perform maintenance tasks for the material master.  This will include additions, subtractions and changes to part number in our ERP system.

Qualifications
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to inventory and inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate a cycle count program in a perpetual inventory environment.
  • Coordinate the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.
  • Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
  • Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the cycle counts in an effort to identify and correct discrepancies on items at the location level as needed.
  • Will monitor warehouse transfers for accuracy and cost effectiveness as directed by Purchasing and Operations Management.
  • Material Master Maintenance (MM)
    • Add new items to the MM as requested in the Add Change Obsolete file (ACO).
    • Make changes to items as requested in the Add Change Obsolete file (ACO).
    • Obsolete parts in the MM as requested in the Add Change Obsolete file (ACO).
  • Help to correct and maintain location accuracy.  Work with receiving to ensure location integrity is kept.
  • Backup support for the purchasing team when someone is out of the office.
  • Any additional tasks deemed necessary due to changing circumstances.
