Job Summary: Provide psychiatric care for patients throughout their life span. Duties include diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric problems. Provides psychiatric health education, recommendations for counseling, and emotional support.
Functions and Responsibilities:
1.0 Perform history taking, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment planning within scope of licensure; perform preventive care and guidance within prescribed guidelines.
2.0 Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and treat clinical problems; make referrals to staff physicians and specialists as necessary.
3.0 Coordinate, review and manage individual patient care in consultation with the staff physicians and other members of the health care team.
4.0 Maintain proper documentation in EHR according to clinical guidelines and operational procedures.
5.0 Comply with organizational policies, procedures, standards of care and related laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
6.0 Miscellaneous Duties
7.1 Actively participate in staff meetings and quality improvement activities
7.2 Develop and maintain positive working relationships within medical and referral community
7.3 Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
· May require travel between sites
· Exposure to infectious disease
· Basic computer skills and office equipment used
· Vision and hearing corrected in normal range
Reporting Relationship:
· Reports to Medical Director
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification Psychiatric-Mental Health Specialties.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community health or primary care setting.
- CPR certified

- Ability to provide efficient and effective care consistent with medical best practices
- Able to provide health care in a sensitive, nonjudgmental manner to persons of all economic levels and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to independently manage patients psychiatric medications and care
- Ability to work independently and as member of health care team
Licensure and Credentials:
- Licensure and certification as appropriate to discipline; eligible for licensure in both MN and WI
