The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, number of months worked, as well as internal equity among our team.
The Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, creating, editing and publishing content across the St. Scholastica digital platforms, including social media channels, css.edu, various marketing materials, and my.css.edu intranet. The Social Media Manager will utilize brand attributes, marketing platforms and values that align with the College’s strategic goals.
Key Results/Responsibilities
Manage the College’s social media channels, including oversight of editorial calendar and tracking of post analytics to optimize future content. Identify new areas of opportunity within existing social channels and evaluate and test new technologies using market trends and industry best practices.
Develop collaborative relationships with campus stakeholders to ensure the student experience and staff and faculty initiatives, research and services are highlighted in social channels.
Provide resources, guidance and partnership to St. Scholastica Athletics social media practices.
Regularly report on performance analytics to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, along with recommendations to increase awareness and engagement.
Write and produce new web and Sentinel blog content that can be utilized across all digital platforms through creative storytelling and search-optimized content.
Capture and edit photographic / videographic assets for social media posting.
Attend occasional evening and/or weekend activities.
Assist marketing and communications team members with various initiatives.
Provide training and guidance for college community regarding social media best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, English, or related field; AND four (4) years of professional experience in digital marketing, journalism, or communications; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. On-site position in Duluth, Minnesota.

Adobe Creative Cloud (Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition)
Must exhibit exceptional attention to detail and have the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels with a variety of backgrounds (e.g. leadership, faculty, students, alumni, community members)
Strong organizational skills
