Special Hazards Technician

Job DetailsJob Location: Century Fire Protection Duluth - Duluth, GA 30096Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Div.29 Duluth, GA * Sign-on Bonus Based on Experience* Summary Perform inspections, service, repairs and upgrades of clean agent fire suppression and other engineered special hazards fire suppression and detection systems. Perform initial acceptance testing, programming and testing of newly installed systems.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform programming, start-up and commissioning of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems. Perform inspection and testing on Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems. Troubleshoot and repair of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems. Complete inspection reports and service work orders. Read, interpret and apply technical design requirements of fire protection codes and standards (Such as NFPA 70, 72, 2001 etc.), building codes, fire codes, insurer criteria, and other technical design documents. Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents. Prepare lists for ordering of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems equipment. Perform accurate surveys of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems in existing buildings. Coordinate installation with electricians. Coordinate activities with project manager.   Supervisory Responsibilities Supervision of helper/apprentice technicians may be required.   Additional Requirements: Pre-employment drug screen and clean MVR; overtime and weekends may be required.   Education and/or Experience High School Diploma and two (2) years experience.   Certifications/Licenses NICET certification; valid Drivers License and clean MVR.   Computer Skills Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel.   ***AGENCY NOTICE*** Agency Submissions: Century Fire Protection does not accept unsolicited resumes from external Headhunters, staffing agencies or search firms.
